What are worship services like?

Both Sunday morning services are traditional in style and include congregational readings, prayers, sermons and a variety of music.
Our Wednesday evening Shine! is a contemporary service of worship with substantive theology.

Where do I park?

The parking lot and church entrance are on the west side of the building and are accessed from Seminary Street. Designated visitor spaces are available. If the lot is full, street parking is available to the west on Hale and Karlskoga Streets. Street parking near the Main Street entrance is also available.

Where do I go when I get there?

People meet and greet one another before and after the service in the Commons, which is accessed from the west entrance. You may also enter the church through the Main Street doors. Greeters and ushers will assist you at either door.
Be sure to stop by the Welcome Desk in the Commons where you will be greeted and receive a welcome gift.

The sanctuary and all rooms in the church except the Chapel are handicap accessible through the elevator located at the west entrance of the building. The Chapel can be reached by a chair-lift that is at the north end of the lower level lobby.

Where do my children go during worship?

During our 9:00 AM Sunday service, children ages 3 years -5th grade are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a special Children’s Time message.
Following the message,
children are dismissed to Faith Station or may return to the pews with their parents.
Children of all ages are welcome to attend worship with their parents during the 11:00 AM service.

At 10 AM Faith Station continues for the children, and we have Sunday School for youth and adults.

During the Wednesday evening Shine! worship, a children’s program called Kid Spirit” is available for children in kindergarten-5th grade from September to May.

Do you have a nursery?

Yes. Care for infants and toddlers up to 3 years old is available from 8:45 to Noon on Sunday mornings and from 6:00 to 8:15 PM on Wednesday evenings.

Will I be singled out as a guest?

You are not asked to stand or speak during the services but we would appreciate it if you would provide your name, address and phone number on the registration pads in the pews so we may contact you by mail or phone. We hope that you will also stop by the Welcome Desk in the Commons to receive information and a welcome gift.

May I participate in communion?

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at both services. United Methodists practice open communion.
All present may receive the sacrament if they so desire.
