Ellie Pentland Director, Friendship Choir, Step By Step email

 

I Spent most of my life in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where I attended the The First Presbyterian Church. In my adult life, I taught Sunday school for all ages at one time or another, sang in the Chancel choir, revived and directed the Chancel choir, directed the Bell choir and directed the Children's choir. I have no musical education; life experience and band have been my teachers.

Co-Leader of the Youth group, frequent Lay Reader, served as a Deacon and an Elder and enjoyed every minute! Worked for Malecki Music in Grand Rapids, Michigan for five  years in of all places, the Choral Department and sang in the Chancel Choir at a new Methodist Church there. We met in a high school auditorium as the church wasn't yet built. 

 I live alone and have a wonderful dog named Chloe! I have three sisters, one brother, two nieces, six nephews and one great niece all of whom still reside in Michigan, as does my father!

In a nutshell, my faith and my music serve as food for my soul and I've been well fed at Gary Church!
