Susan has been an active member of
Gary Church since moving to Wheaton in 1986.
Gary Church volunteer work in the past
Over the years, Susan has served in
numerous leadership roles, including Financial Secretary, Stewardship
Commission Chair, Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Snack
Coordinator. She was instrumental in adding the Sunday School class for
2-year olds in 1994. As a member of the United Methodist Women, Susannah
Wesley Circle, Susan has spearheaded numerous bake and craft sales, earning
thousands of dollars for missions.
Education
After receiving a BS in Mathematics
from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1974, she spent 20 years
designing computer systems for large corporations in Chicago, Sacramento and
San Francisco.
Family
In addition to her current
responsibilities at Gary , Susan is the Office
Manager for her husband’s playground installation business, a substitute
aide in the Wheaton schools and a professional volunteer.
She and husband,
Bernard, met in Huntsville, Alabama in 1988 while they were both on business
trips. They were wed in the sanctuary of Gary Church in 1992. Daughter,
Grace was born in 1996. Susan’s daughter, Chandra (Leben) Mullenix is an
educator in Seattle where she lives with her husband, Andrew.
